History -
Unlike other Disney movies, The Lion King isn't adapted from a fairy tale or classic story. The plot of The Lion King came straight from the minds at Disney. Originally called, "King of the Jungle", The Lion King took many years to complete. The artistic team began their journey to make the film by taking a trip to Africa to study live lions in their natural habitat. A year later, lions and other animals were brought in to the studio for another look. An arduous sequence for the Disney staff was the stampede scene, which required unprecidented computer imagery. When the movie was completed, it was released into theaters where it became the highest grossing animated film of all time. Due to the overwhelming response. It was brought back into theaters in November of 1994, bringing a special preview of the upcoming movie, "Pocahontas".
